Lauren believes in an integrative, collaborative approach where she is flexible and accommodating in sessions so that the therapeutic space can best support your needs. Whether it is your first time seeking therapy or you've experienced therapy before, Lauren highly values you being educated and well-informed about the process of therapy so that you can understand how it works and how it can best serve you.

Lauren conducts sessions that are either structured or more free-flowing; she leaves it up to you to decide what you need from her on any given day. She will ask you what style you find to be most helpful and conducive to have a productive session.

She hopes that she can provide you with the opportunity to experience a vast array of emotions and experiences. She wants you to experience discomfort, humor, support, care, intensity, comfort, and more. She does not believe in asking you "how does that make you feel" each time you share something and welcomes that therapy does not have to be so serious all the time. The space should enable you to express your authentic self and be productive towards whatever it is that you are looking to get out of therapy.

She wants you to share your goals and objectives so that together you can craft a plan for how to achieve them most effectively and efficiently. She operates within a trauma-informed psychodynamic and systemic therapy lens, drawing upon cognitive behavioral techniques when needed. This means that she will be interested in learning about how you grew up, what your childhood was like, what your relationships are like (family, friends, partners, etc.), exploring how you think and feel, among other things.

Lauren believes that recognizing difficulties in your life is one of the first steps towards growth and change, but understanding why the difficulty is occurring in the first place brings your awareness and level of control to a whole other level.

She holds it as a professional value of hers to be prompt in her responses and communications. If you are interested in working with Lauren, she promises to respond within one business day.
